Mallon & Lonnquist attorney Reed Morris is teaching two law classes for Colorado business owners in April at Colorado Free University. The classes will be held at CFU’s campus in Lowry near 1st and Quebec in Denver.
On Tuesday, April 23, 2013 (6:30 to 8:30 p.m.), Reed is teaching How to Win Your Small Claims Court Case. This course is designed for business owners interested in filing or defending small claims cases up to $7,500 in Colorado without using an attorney. Learn how to confidently navigate the small claims court process, present a winning case, and negotiate a binding deal before trial. Topics covered will be strategies to win your case in and out of court including specific examples such as payment disputes and dishonored checks.
On Thursday, April 25, 2013 (6:30 to 8:30 p.m.), Reed is teaching Legal Tips for Small Businesses: Handshakes, Contracts and Disputes. This course gives Denver area business owners an understanding of business agreements that will enable you to protect your success and wealth and avoid common mistakes. This class covers basic agreements including bills of sale, service agreements, and independent contractor agreements. Learn about contract formation, negotiation and enforcement, and take home 15 tips for good business contracts.
