Jim Mallon began his law career in Chicago in 1969, but moved to Colorado in 1971. He was licensed in both states and a member of the Denver and Chicago Bar Associations. He was also admitted to practice before the U. S. District Court in Denver as well as the 10th Circuit Federal Court of Appeals.
He represented clients in Illinois before the district courts and the Illinois Supreme Court; in Colorado before the state district courts, appellate courts, and the Colorado Supreme Court, and before the federal district court in Denver and the U.S. Federal Court of Appeals, 10th circuit. Mr. Mallon holds an undergraduate degree in business administration from Northwestern University School of Business, and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University in Chicago.
During his practice, Jim Mallon represented established and start-up businesses, individuals, financial institutions such as banks and credit unions, private lenders, real estate businesses and others. He advised clients across a wide spectrum of business activities, including transactional, business formation, consolidation and acquisition, and planning, as well as the normal operational legal matters. Jim Mallon provided extensive real estate legal services to his clients regarding contracts and transactional matters, including the development, construction, purchase, sale and leasing of commercial, industrial, retail, and residential real estate.
He also advised his clients in all aspects of financial transactions, lending, negotiation, and resolution of disputes, including, where necessary, representing them in litigation. He was a principal in a number of businesses, including real estate, publishing, commercial lending, and title insurance as well as a director of dozens of companies. He also served as an adjunct professor of business law at Regis University. Mr. Mallon committed his career to providing personalized attention to his clients, developing an in-depth knowledge of the matter and the goals of the client, maintaining good attorney-client communications, and handling matters in a cost effective manner.
