ALLEN E.F. ROZANSKY, ATTORNEY
Allen, licensed in both Colorado and New York, is a Denver-based attorney, practicing for almost twenty-five years in the area of Estate Protection™, including estate planning (taxable and non-taxable estates - domestic and international), taxation (individual, partnership, and corporate - international and domestic), and asset protection planning (domestic and offshore), as well as the formation and operation of business entities and estate and probate administration and litigation. He also serves as an expert witness in divorce proceedings regarding the treatment of beneficial interests in trusts as “property” subject to the Colorado equitable distribution rules.
Allen received his B.A. in International Relations from Connecticut College in 1989. He then received both his M.B.A. and J.D. (with an emphasis in taxation) from the University of Colorado in 1994. He is proficient in French and Hebrew, having lived and studied in Paris and Jerusalem, and is partially proficient in Spanish.
Allen is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations. He is one of the original Co-Legal Managing Editors of, and a contributing author to, CLE Colorado Inc.’s three-volume Practitioner’s Guide to Colorado Business Organizations, recently released in its third edition. He has also written about estate planning, international and domestic taxation, business organizations, and securities, having been published in such publications as The Colorado Lawyer (will revocations, international estate planning, securities, probate litigation, and same-sex marriages), the newsletter of the International Law Section of the American Bar Association (international taxation), the Comparative Yearbook of International Business published by the Center for International Legal Studies (legal issues arising when non-American athletes play professionally in the United States), the CBA’s Trust and Estate Section’s Council Notes,and The Front Porch newspaper (effect of U.S. Supreme Court's DOMA decision on Colorado residents). Allen has also lectured on many topics, including domestic and international taxation, estate planning, and choice-of-entity planning.
Allen is very active in the Denver community, having served as president and secretary of the board of directors of the Rocky Mountain Children’s Choir and on the Finance Committee of Denver’s Jewish Community Center. He has also coached and assisted with the coaching of several local youth baseball, soccer, and lacrosse teams.
